What is
"Art of the Month"?

"Art of the Month" is a members only contest held during each monthly Member Meeting from September to May.

Four pieces are chosen: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention.

The winning pieces are displayed at one of five Manchester locations: Mary Cheney Library, The Arbors, Webster Bank on Main Street, and Whiton Library on North Main Street

Who judges the contest?

The contest is judged by the demonstrating guest artist. If there is no demonstrating guest artist another judge may be chosen. Sometimes the contest is judged by the members.

How do members enter the contest?

Each member may bring one piece of artwork to the meeting to be entered in the contest. There is a special sign in sheet when you arrive. Please arrive before 6:45 pm. Artwork must be wired and ready to hang.

What happens when you win?

Winners are announced after the business portion of each monthly meeting, prior to the demonstration. The information is also posted online and sent out as a press release. A photo of the winners and artwork will be taken at the meeting and posted online. Posing for this photo is optional.

Winners are responsible for hanging their work in the assigned locations each month and taking their artwork down before the next meeting. If you must remove your work before then, please replace it with a comparable piece of work.

Winners of the "Art of the Month" contest at the May meeting will display their work in their winning locations until the September meeting. We encourage winning artists to change their work monthly during this time.
