The next meeting
of the Manchester Art Association will be Wednesday, November, 20, 2019 at 7:00
pm in a location to be determined. Check back for updates.
Our guest artist Jamilah Zebarth will give a history and demonstration of henna designs. Jamilah learned the art of henna when she became schooled in Islam. She was drawn to henna as an alternate body form because it is natural and beautiful. The intricate designs can symbolize passages of life and are also be applied simply for their beauty. Many people prefer henna over a tattoo because it is temporary and not painful. In fact, Jamilah uses essential oils in her natural henna making the application look AND smell wonderful. Jamilah is able to draw the intricate henna designs freehand beautifully because she also draws and paints in her free time.
The program will include a members' Art-of-the-Month competition and
light refreshments. The meeting is free and open to the public.
